Alexis - English I and II Teacher at Baltimore Community High School

I have been implementing 3C's as much as I can through my lessons, and it has truly opened the eyes of many of my students. Due to some other circumstances, this has been difficult at times, but I am working as hard as I can to show them what "life after high school" can really look like. The 3C Skills program has given my over-aged and under-credited students in Baltimore access to resources and skills that are imperative as they enter the 'real world' in just a few short months.

The skill I completed was the “speaking to groups”. I watched the videos that were put on the site and had my teacher help me with the training manual as well as to find a group that I could practice my new learned skill. I made a presentation for Black History Month, which I would present to the Shades of Brown club at our school. With the help of 3C Skills, I couldnʼt have looked, felt, or spoke as confidently as I did. I have also become more confident speaking in front of my classes and asking questions without being embarrassed. I know for a fact that this program is one that anyone could do to improve their professional self.
